SEMS Audit Guidance / Toolkit

SEMS

On November 30th we provided information at this blog site from the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) to do with their new edition of HSE Case Guidelines for Mobile Offshore Drilling Units.

IADC has also summarized the work that was done on the SEMS Toolkit.  They state,

IADC staff have been actively working with an Offshore Operators Committee (OOC) task force, in cooperation with the Center for Offshore Safety (COS), to develop readiness/implementation tools that operators and contractors may use in their efforts to comply with SEMS.

A list of the available documents is provided below.

IADC HSE Case Guidelines

The International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) has issued an updated edition of their “HSE Case Guidelines” for Mobile Offshore Drilling Units (there is a similar document for Land Drilling Units). It can be downloaded from www.iadc.org/iadc-hse/iadc-hse-case-guidelines/.

IADC states,

The Guidelines provide a framework for developing an integrated health, safety and environmental management system for use in reducing the risks associated with offshore and onshore drilling activities.

The Guidelines provide the worldwide drilling industry with a means of harmonizing global health, safety and environmental principles applicable to drilling units into a single methodology tailored to the drilling contractor community.  This framework will greatly assist regulatory bodies, drilling contractors, and oil and gas producers in achieving higher degrees of personnel safety and environmental protection worldwide.
